The London Society is absolutely thrilled to see our friends at Fleet Street Quarter launch something truly special – the inaugural Fleet Street Quarter Festival of Words, running from 14 to 17 May 2025.
This four-day celebration marks an exciting new chapter for one of London’s most historic and storied districts. Long known as the heart of British journalism and publishing, Fleet Street is now embracing its literary legacy in the most vibrant way: with a packed programme of talks, panels, performances and family-friendly events, all centred around the power of storytelling.
From household names like Ben Okri, Kate Mosse and Jojo Moyes, to incisive discussions with journalists, politicians and historians, the festival promises something for every lover of words. We’re especially delighted to see such thoughtful programming on everything from current affairs and investigative journalism to fiction, screenwriting, history, and even sport and food writing.
It’s a brilliant way to highlight Fleet Street’s cultural heritage while looking firmly to the future – including conversations about AI, democracy, media innovation and storytelling across new platforms.
The Society applauds Fleet Street Quarter BID and all their partners for making this festival happen. It’s exactly the kind of initiative that breathes new life into our historic spaces and brings Londoners together through shared ideas and inspiration.
