APPG for London's Planning and Built Environment
Following the terrible events at Grenfell Tower, this APPG will bring together experts to update on the wider responses across the city, followed by a discussion on the wider implications for the delivery and management of social housing.
Speakers include local authority representatives, Sue Foster, LB Lambeth and Pat Hayes, Be First, Barking & Dagenham (former LB Ealing), and experts, including Peter Murray, Chair of the London Society and New London Architecture.
The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) is chaired by Rupa Huq MP, and was set up by The London Society supported by New London Architecture and Local Dialogue in October 2015 to debate the key issues facing the changing shape of London, from housing delivery, to tall buildings, to transport infrastructure. The group brings together MPs and Peers from across the political parties to develop in-depth inquiries on the future shape of the UK capital, drawing together expertise and evidence from the industry, professions and political parties.
The event will be attended by MPs and built environment professionals. Election of officers will also take place.
