Members of The London Society are invited to join Jonathan Jenkins, CEO of LAA Charity for this exclusive “Behind the Scenes” tour of London’s world leading provider of pre-hospital emergency care.

London’s Air Ambulance has been protecting the people who live, work and visit the Capital for 35 years. Operating via the iconic red helicopter or fast response car – attending approximately 5 people every day, as well as providing support for any major incident that may occur (think Grenfell, Paddington Train, Croydon Tram, and the terror attacks at Westminster, London Bridge, Fishmongers’ Hall, and, of course 7/7).
The team brings the hospital to the patient, delivering life-saving care at the roadside to those who haven’t got the time to get to hospital, 24x7x354. LAA is renowned as a world leader in its provision of care, with almost 45,000 patients served to date. The team can infuse blood, reinflate lungs and perform open heart interventions where and when people need it the most.
Based on top of the Royal London Hospital (in partnership with Barts Health and the London Ambulance Service), LAA operates from Europe’s highest hospital helipad, with unique 360 degree views of Greater London – the area it serves. This is a unique opportunity to visit the helipad, see the helicopter, the response cars, and meet the team that provides this service (operational demands/weather permitting).
**Due to the limited availability for this tour, attendance is strictly limited to fully paid up members of the Society and will be by ballot. The ballot closes on Monday, 19 June at noon at which point you will be contacted if your name has been drawn.
Confirmation of attendance and payment (£5 Student members / £10 General members) must be received by 9am on Wednesday, 21 June.
