Join Paul Williams, Founding Director of Stanton Williams for a presentation and a visit of the future museum site.
In the coming years, the Smithfield area will go through a major transformation with the opening of the new Museum of London in the disused market buildings of West Smithfield. This new museum is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reconceive what a museum for London can be, and create a new institution grounded in the history of people and place, one which considers current day experience and looks to the future.

The new museum is a major restoration and redevelopment of currently dilapidated market buildings in the Smithfield Conservation Area, one of the capital’s most historic and creative quarters. With some of the buildings being listed, the design approach developed by Stanton Williams and Asif Khan pays careful attention to the balance between ancient and modern, and the architects’ vision melds the existing buildings through contemporary interventions. The new museum will provide the opportunity to create innovative ways of engaging citizens and visitors alike with new displays of the collection, special exhibitions and events.
Please provide jacket and shoe size in the booking process for PPE.
