London is typically regarded as a city that developed "organically" over time in contrast to some other great cities such as Paris, Barcelona and New York who's roads follow distinct strategic urban plans.
Notwithstanding, London's modern day road map includes several road's that were built as strategic interventions responding to specific issues that the capital faced in past times. This talk tours a number of the planned roads than can be seen in modern day London and also looks at some the planned roads that never materialised. Alistair Lenczner (Expedition engineering) explores the development of the capital's roadways.
