TOUR | Spitalfields: London’s First Melting Pot

Bordering the City of London, but a world away in style and history, Spitalfields has seen successive waves of immigrants create an historically and architecturally rich neighbourhood that is like no other part of the capital.

On this guided walk with Blue Badge Guide Paul Metcalfe we’ll tour this unique and independent part of the capital, looking at its history and its present as the vibrant and cosmopolitan centre of ‘hipster’ London.

French window shutters, synagogues and minarets are all in close proximity, evidence of the influence of the Huguenots, Russian jews and Bengalis that have built communities in the area.
