Tour | Tipping Point East: Circular Construction

How we build London affects far more than skylines. It shapes jobs, waste, skills, neighbourhoods and the city’s ability to respond to the climate emergency in ways that are practical and fair.

This tour offers a chance to explore a new kind of infrastructure for London: one that treats reuse, training and low-carbon construction not as specialist ideas, but as part of everyday city-making. Based in Newham’s Royal Docks, Tipping Point East shows what a more circular built environment could look like on the ground.

Founded in 2025, Tipping Point East is a circular construction hub operating from a 20,000 sqm industrial site in east London. Co-developed by, and home to, Yes Make, RESOLVE Collective and Material Cultures, it brings together material reuse, green skills, cultural activity and regenerative development in one working site.

At a time when London is under pressure to cut carbon, reduce waste and widen access to new forms of work, places like this matter. Tipping Point East is not simply a storage or workshop space. It is a live model of how circular material flows, training pathways, SME incubation and partnership working can begin to support a more just transition in the built environment. Its location in the Royal Docks also makes it part of a wider east London story about industry, infrastructure and what future growth should look like.

Arranged in partnership with Don’t Waste Buildings, this visit will introduce the Tipping Point East model and take attendees through the site’s live operations, including material storage and processing, workshops, training and research spaces, and demonstrator projects. Along the way, participants will gain insight into circular construction, reuse infrastructure, green jobs and skills pathways, governance and funding models, and the practical challenges and opportunities of building a regenerative urban economy. The visit will also include time for discussion and questions with the founding organisations.

Join us to see how circular construction is being put into practice in east London, and what it might teach us about the future of building, reusing and learning in the city.
