TOUR | Wide-Angle View

**This event is now Sold Out. A waiting list is in operation, do register and we will get in touch if a space becomes available.

This curator-led tour will explore the latest exhibition in the Architecture Gallery at the RIBA: Wide-Angle View, Architecture as social space in the Manplan series 1969-70.

The show was organised by Valeria Carullo Curator, The Robert Elwall Photographs Collection, RIBA, and she will reveal the story of how one supplement of the Architectural Review would analyse the state of architecture and urban planning in Britain. Revolutionary both in ambition and in execution, and radical in its tone and style, photography was central to communicating ideas and critiquing the impact of architecture on society. Many of the issues the series covered remain relevant today, including poverty, economic uncertainty, community participation in the planning process and the role architects can play in creating a fairer society.

Wide Angle View features digitised copies, archive material and 76 photographs taken by renowned professionals such as Ian Berry, Patrick Ward and Tony Ray-Jones, which have rarely been re-published and never exhibited before.
