The Society has been granted special access to YY London by Buckley Gray Yeoman – a radical refurbishment of a first-generation Canary Wharf building that massively improves its overall energy demand by 62%, while saving 10,000 tonnes of carbon emissions by avoiding demolition.
This exclusive tour will highlight a series of “re-greening” initiatives, such as lush green roofs and terraces on every floor, including a serene communal rooftop garden, which blend nature with city life while enhancing biodiversity. At the southeast entrance, experience a triple-height reception filled with natural materials, digital art, and greenery, which offers an inviting gateway to a future-focused building.
The project contains a range of advanced sustainability features, including solar control façades, rooftop photovoltaic panels, and demand-controlled ventilation. There is also a focus on wellbeing-centered workspaces, with vibrant shops and restaurants that enliven the public realm. By combining energy efficiency and wellness, YY London has achieved a whole host of accreditations: BREEAM Outstanding, WELL Platinum, and SMARTScore Platinum.
Spaces are limited—don’t miss this chance to explore the capital’s green future at YY London. Please note that a videographer will be filming as part of the tour.
