WALK | Brixton Between the Pages – a literary tour

Brixton has been a popular setting for many literary works. Even Conan Doyle’s famous fictional detective Sherlock Holmes mentioned the area on several occasions!

Authors such as Alex Wheatle, Gerald Jacobs, Zadie Smith, Linton Kwesi-Johnson, Candice Carty Williams, and Tom Crewe to name but a few have used Brixton to good effect. This walking tour of Central Brixton will include excerpts from a selection of books and poetry to help transpose fictional characters and events into the real streets of Brixton.
The tour will pass by (not stop) three bookshops so you can reward yourself at the end of the tour!

The walk will be led by Angela Morgan, Lambeth Tour Guide.
