We’re delighted to introduce Kayode Akinola, one of the newest trustees of The London Society.

Kayode speaks warmly about the opportunity London offers, a city where whatever job you want to do, food you want to eat, place you want to visit, or community you want to join, it can be found. Although he grew up in London, he made a conscious decision as an adult to make it his home. That richness and diversity, he notes, also means people experience London in very different ways, and that the capital faces real challenges if it is to be a truly great city for all.

This belief is central to why Kayode is so enthusiastic about joining The London Society. He sees it as an organisation for everyone who loves London and wants to make it better, with a clear commitment to representing the whole city and all its communities. Its focus on the built environment and how it shapes daily life now and in the future is an area where he feels he can add real value.

Connecting bricks and mortar with hearts and minds has been a consistent thread throughout Kayode’s career. He has held senior communications and public affairs roles across major organisations, including Goldman Sachs, the HS2 major infrastructure programme, and global property firm JLL. Through this work, he has helped position the built environment as part of the solution to wider economic, social and environmental challenges.

As The London Society looks to raise its profile, increase its impact and help shape London’s future, Kayode sees this as an exciting moment to be involved and a genuine opportunity to make a difference to the city he calls home.
