The London Society, a registered Charity is seeking two new trustees to join the board.

The London Society is an independent, non-political membership based civic society dedicated to promoting debate and awareness around the planning, development, and future of London. Founded in 1912, the Society serves as a forum for individuals and organisations passionate about the city’s architecture, design, infrastructure, urban life and built environment.

Key Features and Activities:

  1. Advocacy and Debate: The London Society addresses pressing issues related to urban development, conservation, and the built environment. It provides a platform for discussing how London can evolve while maintaining its unique character.
  2. Publications: The Society publishes reports, essays, and journals that explore topics such as city planning, heritage, and the challenges of modern urban living. Notable works include insights into London's housing crisis, green spaces, and transportation.
  3. Events and Lectures: It organises talks, panel discussions, walking tours, and site visits that engage the public and experts alike. These events often feature leading architects, planners, historians, and policymakers.
  4. Heritage and Future Vision: While it advocates for preserving London's historical assets, the Society also champions innovative ideas for the city's sustainable growth and adaptation to challenges like climate change and population growth.
  5. Membership: The Society is open to everyone, from professionals in architecture and urban planning to residents and enthusiasts who care about London's past, present, and future.
