This June, The London Society will be exhibiting at the London Map Fair, joining collectors, historians and curious Londoners to explore how mapping has shaped the city we live in today.
Seeing London differently
Maps are not just records of the past. They are tools that shape how we understand the city. Long before planning committees, digital twins or transport models, maps were the way London was imagined, organised and governed. They revealed what mattered, what was growing, and what was being left behind.
At The London Society, this idea runs through everything we do.
We help Londoners connect the physical city with the systems behind it. Housing, transport, green space, culture. These are not abstract policy areas. They are patterns you can often trace on a map, if you know where to look.
Exhibiting at the fair is a chance to make that connection visible.

That is why we believe making London more legible, more understandable, is a civic act in itself.
