Join the London Society for a behind-the-scenes tour of Outernet London, the ground-breaking immersive media, culture, music and retail district in the heart of the West End. Led by Orms, the practice responsible for the architectural transformation of this complex urban site, this tour will explore how cutting-edge design, heritage preservation and placemaking have come together to secure Tin Pan Alleys long term future and create one of London’s most innovative public realms.
The Outernet is more than just a destination — it’s a reinvention of the city block, combining vast digital exhibition spaces, two performance venues, restored historic streets and a vibrant mix of uses above and below ground. Orms will provide insights into the project’s challenges and ambitions, from navigating heritage constraints to designing for a 21st-century digital culture.
The tour will include:
- The reintegration of Denmark Street and the sensitive refurbishment of its listed buildings.
- Insight into the site’s layered history and how the new architecture stitches together old and new.
- A behind the scenes tour of Here and The Lower Third music venues.
- A walkthrough of the Now Building and its spectacular wraparound LED screens.
- A discussion on the broader urban strategy for this corner of central London, including. connectivity, public realm and the integration of culture and commerce.
